 Cologne is the fourth largest city
in the Republic of Germany, the largest city on the Rhine and one of the oldest cities in
Germany. The impressive silhouette of "holy" Cologne, with it's abundant church
towers, came into being in the Middle Ages; the Cologne Cathedral, however, was first
completed in the early 19th century and stands as the symbol for Cologne.
